Residents from Springbank Care Home, Silsden, cheer on Deliver Net in charity cycling challenge
Residents at the newly-opened Springbank care home in Silsden, West Yorkshire, recently enjoyed a visit this week from members of the team at Deliver Net, who are completing a cycling challenge for charity.
Members of ‘Team Deliver Net’ are attempting to cycle 300 miles to raise vital funds for Alzheimer’s Research UK and are clocking up the miles on road bikes and static exercise bikes.
‘Pedalling a good cause’
Deliver Net interior designer and cycling team member, Julie Cawood, “This is a cause we’re all really passionate about, not least because many of the 1,200 care homes we supply provide specialist dementia care. The reality is that 1 in 3 of us will go on to develop one form of dementia. We’re doing what we can to change that.”
Springbank owner, Steven Spellman added “It’s been really enjoyable for the residents to cheer on a cycling session and we’re delighted to sponsor the Deliver Net team challenge.”
Originally built in 1875, Springbank has been lovingly restored and modernised over the past 2 years, including a range of soft furnishings supplied by Deliver Net and can now accommodate 41 residents in high quality surroundings, which still maintain many stunning original features.
